Quaker Lobby Day 2025 events including events before and after February 12
QUAKER LOBBY DAY
Wednesday morning, February 12, 10 am to noon, both in person in Olympia and online:
First is a full briefing which provided training on effective legislator visits and a presentation of the priority bills by the working groups, including where each bill stands in the legislative process. The in-person gathering will be at Olympia Friends Meeting, 3201 Boston Harbor Rd NE, Olympia, WA 98506.
- 10:00-10:10 — Welcome. Susan Cozzens, Quaker Voice Clerk.
- 10:10-10:30 — Preparing to lobby. Jacob Squirrell, Legislative Advocate, provides advice and practice on how to be effective in meetings with legislators.
- 10:30-11:00 — Criminal Justice working group priorities.
- 11:00-11:30 — Economic Justice working group priorities.
- 11:30-noon — Environmental Stewardship working group priorities.
- Noon-1 pm — Lunch provided by Olympia Meeting. Quaker Voice thanks Olympia Meeting!
Wednesday afternoon, February 12, 1 pm onwards — Constituent meetings at the Capitol and online.
- Each district has a legislative lead who is making appointments. (Use Find Your District at leg.wa.gov if you need to find the number for your district.)
- Your district lead’s contact information is available here. They will send you information on the schedule of meetings for your district. Contact them with questions on the legislator meetings.

PREPARATION FOR LOBBY DAY
Sunday morning, February 9, 9:30 to 10:30 am, online.This is a pre-briefing on the priority bills chosen by the three working groups, in criminal justice, economic justice, and environmental stewardship. The session will be recorded and posted for others who want a preview.
Monday evening, February 10, 6:30 pm, online, is an optional orientation for new attenders including an introduction to where Quaker Voice intervenes as our priority bills move through the legislature and the various ways you can participate in that process.
END OF QUAKER LOBBY WEEK
Friday, January 26, 2:30 pm, on Zoom — Share What We Learned debrief and evaluation session. This is open to everyone. We hope that each district delegation will send at least one person.
